New York City... Here we come!

So on Friday I officially will be in NYC for my first time that was not an airport layover! There is going to be so much to do there. Sightseeing of course, but also wedding planning! Katey and I want to be fancy ladies and drink nice drinks and try on pretty dresses together. I am so happy to have a FSIL that loves me so much. It doesn't hurt that my FBIL loves me too :). They are taking us out to a fabulous night on the town where we will be going to Maze, a Gordon Ramsey place. (Maybe we will hear him cuss out his cooks!) Frank has also talked about going out for drinks etc since the day we met a few years ago and he and his beautiful fiance live there also. We are going to try really hard to see some other friends and family while we are there, but if we do not get to see you PLEASE do not take it personal, we are not just going for pleasure, we mean business! I will catch everyone up with pictures and updates when we get back. Who knows, maybe P Man and I will blog from the big apple!

PS leave comments about ideas of where to go and try too!

P-Man

There are only a few that can comprehend the name P-Man. Its actually pretty self-explanatory. When I was a little kid, I had to got. A lot apparently and was dubbed P-Man by my elder cousins. Only a few knew, and know I am Canseco-ing myself an coming clean.

Bridal Show

Let me tell all the guys out there one thing. Bridal Shows were okay for about the first forty five minuets to an hour. I will say that it is good to go to one so you can get some ideas about stuff but after one, your duty is satisfied and you need not go to anymore. Sampling cake though is a plus and it doesnt look as big from when you walk in but realize one thing, you are going to stop at every booth, no matter what. Every one.

Fret not my fellow masculines, you will not be the only ones. I guarantee you will see someone you know there. There even was a Andy Parker sighting and he looked as if he was getting annoyed at the amount of people that were giving him the "I know you from the TV" and pointing in his direction. If you can avoid dropping what you are doing and make sure you make it to every walkway show, it could feasible be done in about an hour and a half. BUT, the thing is, there is a show every hour on the hour that everyone drops what they are doing to watch women walk around in dresses and dudes walk around in tuxes (one middle aged man acting kind of creepish) and eventually they repeat the dresses and tuxes.

I recommend any booth sampling their cake, and stopping at every limo service booth that is there (Hummzilla and the Kodiak thats all I'll say). Also men, stop by the tux rental place (usually Tuxedo Junction) , you can win free stuff for your groomsmen and they have some pretty good deals, even though the quality of Mens Wearhouse is superior.

There is a lot to bypass as well. The Photobooths are all the same, and the DJs that are there borderline on the annoying side (Yes you in the main lobby as you walk in, you suck) but there is a bar as soon as you walk in and if your feeling a little tropical, there is a smoothie stand as well. The concession stand that is there is pretty self explanatory. Expect to pay Ralph Wilson Stadium type prices for things that are mediocre at best.

Wear. Comfortable. Shoes.

All-in-all it wasn't a disaster, actually pretty informative and you can really grasp on what people are selling and what kind of prices you can expect to pay. But men, go to one and done. There is no need to go to more. 85% of the paperwork gets thrown away as soon as you get home anyways.

P Man goes to a bridal show...

So I asked P Man to go to the bridal show with me. I got one piece of proof, and here it is...

Apparently there is another woman in his life...
Two of my bridesmaids also went with me. Introducing on the right my little sister Nicole, and on the left Maid of Honor Jessie! Katey and Kerry live a bit too far for that trip.

Someday I will have a picture of all of us together. That is the trouble of being grown ups we are all scattered all over!

Meeting of the Minds

Today we had our meeting with Pearl Street. Their coordinator was absolutely fantastic! We love the space, lots of brick, industrial, fairly unique wedding wise, and very much us. They have an amazing open bar to boot! All that is left to do is show my mom and dad. They have never been there. After our meeting P Man and I went to Cole's to discuss and crunch numbers. We literally were not able to come up with any negatives. What is better than good food and good friends all in one place! It is so beautiful! Katey and Aaron were there last year and it looked like this:

I will try to get better pictures. My dad and I were planning centerpieces and favors today, just toying with ideas. There may be some hot glue guns and glass etching in our near future! (I am sure I will need help ladies!)

Greetings!

Welcome to ours (and my) very first blog! In the never ending quest to keep our many friends and loved ones in the loop we are creating a blog about the details of our 2011 wedding.
On October 3rd 2005 we made it official, we began dating. Exactly four years later (about to the hour) we were engaged! We could not be happier.

We have a color! Lapis! Which, I always thought was blue but I don't know. Also my mom and I went to try dresses on today! I fould two that I just loved. I felt like a princess! Unfortunately I can't post the information about them because P Man will see, and that would not be good. He won't let me tell him about it even a little! But, no decisions will be made yet, as we are adventuring to NYC in just over a week to visit with Katey and Aaron!
More updates soon! And hopefully P Man will update too!
Love
